Stepping Into Portal Care

A birth companion by your side

Birth is a threshold. You don’t have to cross it alone.

I accompany women from pregnancy through the portal of birth and into the first weeks with their baby. My presence is quiet and steady. I’m not here to direct or intervene, but to tend to you, trusting your body and your power in every phase of becoming a mother.

I am currently welcoming births due before May 2027, in Berlin Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg and surrounding areas.

What I offer

Before birth.

We meet during pregnancy to prepare together. We listen to what you need, look at your support around you, and nurture your inner trust. If you are still on the way to pregnancy, I also accompany preconception care.

Labour and birth.

I am with you through labour and birth, at home, in a birth centre or in hospital. A calm, steady presence, gentle touch when it helps, and space for you to find your own rhythm.

The first weeks.

Postpartum visits and gentle care while you and your baby arrive in your new life together.

Body practices.

Throughout, I bring somatic fascia work, pelvic floor practices, gentle movement and Qi Gong, so you can feel at home in your body as it opens, births and restores.

Exchange

There is no fee for my presence. What you share with me, your trust and your experience, is part of my learning. If you wish to give something back, it is warmly received.

Christina Theisen

Meet me

I am Christina, a somatic abdominal bodyworker and movement facilitator, with more than 20 years of body-oriented work as a physiotherapist, embodiment practitioner and Chi Nei Tsang practitioner. Since the beginning of 2026, I am training as a doula at the Center for Doula Pathways, supported by my mentors there. I speak English and German.

Good to know

As a birth companion, I offer emotional and physical support. I do not give medical advice and I don’t replace your midwife or doctor. I walk beside them and beside you.

Let’s meet

The first step is a free, unhurried phone call, to see if we feel right together.

With much love,
Christina
